Safflower Seeds
Flower seeds have a nutrient profile like nuts. This varies, depending on its type and where it they are
grown. Overall, their fats are healthy but high in calories, so amounts fed need to be regulated according
to the needs of the individual birds.
I add Safflower Seeds to my birds seed mix in the morning. I mix measured in one bowl Tops Seed for Larger birds and Top Napoleon Seed for My Cockatiels with Top Pellets. Then I add in Milk Thistle and Hemp. My birds love seeds but like everything else, in moderation. I give my Grey’s a little under a 1/4 cup of Seed/Pellet mix and my little birds get about a tablespoon and a half of seed and Pellet mix.In another bowl, I will use Bird Street Bistro or make my own Grains and add Veggies or Christine’s Chop Shop Soak and Serve.
