Flat Perch Owner and Mobile Bird Groomer, I have been grooming birds for over 40 years now off and on. Volunteering at Rescues and of course have some rescue birds. My birds all came from people who were either tired of taking care of birds, clients who couldn’t care for their birds anymore an owner didn’t think was worth it to take the bird to a vet and people that have passed away. Only 2 of my 5 birds I consider rescues.
Mobile Bird Grooming started in California in 1981, I worked and managed 3 pet stores. I started working with my mom Marlyn Diamond at the age of 18. We worked together at Mets Pets in Thousand Oaks, California. Then I worked at California Pet Center in Woodland Hills and Tidal Wave in Agoura Hills. I started a small Mobile Bird Grooming Business in My late 20’s. My small family then moved to Pennsylvania and I sold my business then. 3 years later I moved to Arizona and started grooming again in 2006. While living and grooming in Arizona, I have volunteered at Arizona Exotic Bird Rescue in Scottsdale and helped a little at Fallen Feathers. Joined some bird clubs (The bird clubs stopped during Covid, sorry to say, but I am starting a bird club here in Dewey, AZ). I have meet some fabulous bird people, That now are very good friends of mine.
I started making Flat Perches because they were hard to find Now I am the owner of Flat Perch and I am still Bird Grooming.
